BudgIT and Tracka co-founder, Seun Onigbinde now a technical advisor to the government on budget

Double as the co-founder of BudgIT and Tracka, Seun Onigbinde has accepted the role of a technical advisor to the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Budget and Planning.

In his medium post, the IT guru shared the post where the appointment was announced. Seun said his new role is still underwritten for the next six months.

In a technical advisory role, I shall be supporting the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, along with the issues of budget reform, development planning, and revenue growth,” the Medium post reads in part. “It is similar to a task Joseph Agunbiade (my BudgIT co-founder) and I worked on in 2013-14, under the DFID-FEPAR programme for the National Assembly Budget and Research Office.”

Known as one of the critics of this present Federal Government, his appointment has generated backlashes on the internet especially on Twitter.

In view of this, Seun promised he will remain true and loyal to his core values and that of his company, BudgIT.

This may be somehow connected to the recent approval of 7.5% VAT by the Federal Government.

With the companies he created which is to enforce government transparency, we hope the present role will enable him to remain true to the values of the company he co-founded 8 years ago.
