Aliko Dangote, Chairman and CEO, Dangote Group

Degree: He has a bachelor’s degree in business studies and administration from Al-Azhar University, Cairo.

Dangote who founded Dangote Group which was established as a small trading firm in 1977, the same year Dangote relocated to Lagos to expand the company. Today, it is a multi-trillion naira conglomerate with many of its operations in Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. Dangote has expanded to cover food processing, cement manufacturing, and freight. The Dangote Group also dominates the sugar market in Nigeria and is a major supplier to the country’s soft drink companies, breweries, and confectioners. The Dangote Group has moved from being a trading company to being the largest industrial group in Nigeria including Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Cement, and Dangote Flour.

Mike Adenuga, Founder of Globacom, Chairman of Conoil

Degree: He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Pace University, New York with degrees in Business Administration.

His company Globacom is Nigeria’s second-largest telecom operator, and also has a presence in Ghana and Benin. He also owns stakes in the Equitorial Trust Bank and the oil exploration firm Conoil (formerly Consolidated Oil Company).

Adewale Tinubu, CEO Oando

Degree: Law at the University of Liverpool, England. Masters in Law London School of Economics.

Wale is the Group Chief Executive of Oando PLC, one of sub-Saharan Africa’s foremost indigenous integrated energy groups. He began his career in 1992 as an attorney, specialising in corporate and petroleum law assignments. In 1994, Wale co-founded Ocean & Oil Group and guided its strategic development from an oil trading and shipping company to the fully diversified and integrated Oil & Gas Company it is today

Herbert Wigwe, MD/CEO of Access Bank plc

Degree: Accountancy from the University of Nigeria. MA in Banking and Finance from the University College of North Wales (now Bangor). MSc in Financial Economics from the University.

He is currently CEO and Group managing director of Access Bank plc, one of Nigeria’s top five banking institutions, after succeeding his business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhede in January 2014

Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited and Subsidiaries

Degree:  Veterinary Medicine from University of Ibadan.

Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan  is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited and Subsidiaries, a position to which he was appointed from his former role as Group Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director with the bank.




John Obaro

Degree: B.Sc Mathematics and Computer Science, Ahmadu Bello University. MBA from the University of Lagos.

He founded SystemSpecs Nigeria Limited, a company he nurtured from a 5-man partner agent of Systems Union, (now Infor) in 1991 to a financial technology company. Prominent among the solutions SystemSpecs has developed are Remita, HumanManager among others.

Segun Agbaje, MD/CEO GTbank

Degree: B.Sc Accountancy, University of San Francisco. Master’s degree in Business Administration University of San Francisco.

Agbaje was appointed Acting Managing Director in April 2011 when Tayo Aderinokun, then in the terminal stages of a diagnosis of lung cancer proceeded on medical leave. Upon Aderinokun’s death in June 2011, Segun Agbaje was named substantial MD/CEO of the bank.
